Where we came from

Back around 35 years ago a group of writers had a conversation about what would make the ideal world, and soon discovered that what was heaven to one was hell to another. They went on as part of a project called the choices project to look at all aspects of life, civilization and just about anything that effected people.

Over the years the investigations grew, and eventually it became a more practical organization running a range of clubs and much more eventually becoming  New Atlantis, an international non profit organization, virtual country and far more.

New Atlantis had many clubs, companies and projects, in 1999 there were at least 14 clubs national clubs operational within the UK alone. Many thousands of people were regularly involved.

The independent Inquiry society was one of these clubs, inheriting the role of investigating just about anything from the original choices project.

Where we are going today

We are very much part of New Atlantis, its philosophy, its concept of honor and truth, and its search for a better life style for all its citizens.

The Independent Inquiry Society (IIS) does not carry out individual case studies, such as looking at an individual injustice but takes a wider viewpoint, looking at many examples and situations over an extended time. Mostly our reports are for members only, and because we honor the trust people put in us we have been able to discover so many things that the public are not aware of. All this information we treat responsibly, and much we keep to ourselves.

One of the slight problems with doing in depth, quality studies completely independently is that we are unable to report on individual situations, and while this suits our objective of looking at the improvements for society overall it does not meet the individual needs, not is it very swift. To meet this need last year we were involved with others in establishing a new independent non profit organization Independent FactFinders. This organization has the same trustees and president as New Atlantis and the IIS. It has a number of web sites but their index site is at www.independent-factfinders.com

Although we had an earlier web site, this site is largely based on information that was originally a section of the UK branch site for New Atlantis. 

We hope to expand it over time and to publish some of our reports here. We will also be coordinating the developments with the main IIS web site at www.independent-inquiry.org
